Mosseyes was born in her parent's first litter and was the the secound youngest out of four kits. Her older brother, Flameclaws, her older sister, Sunflower, and her younger sister Barkpaw all died later on in their lives due to illness, animal attack, and war. Mosseyes was the only one left alive in her litter. When she became a warrior her mother was about to give birth to another litter and was deeply sick. She gave died shortly after giving birth to Rustkit and Weedkit who died the day they were born. Mosseyes father, Forestgaze was killed by a fox a season later when Mosseyes became deputy. Mosseyes lost her family when she was only 24 moons.
