Silent
. The wind was cold and steady with the smell of rain, or if it was cold enough sleet. It tugged and twirled the grasses and leaves on the open grassland of Eagleclan. The light was dim and the skiy was filled with dark clouds that too threatened rain. Most creatures were in their dens, warm and safe, out of the cold world. Silence, thats what it was silence in the frost bitten world. Silence as everything waited for Leafbare to be over. Everything was still, holding its breath as it waited.
Frozen World
As the world held its breath something braved the cold still world and moved. Something always moved, just as time always moves. Time is always on going, never stopping, never resting. Tick tick tick tick tick tick tick On and on it goes, never waiting for the right moment never waiting for anything. Time always moves on; so make the best of your time before its gone. Try to make a pawprint on time, try to hold it back for just a moment, to be remembered, to be known. Try. But dont expect to be there forever.
Two Against the World
The movement again. The shiver of a bush, the sway of the tall grass as a dark shape moved about before appearing on top of a rock, stopping for a fleeting second. The wind picked up, died, then picked up again stronger than before. It pulled and played with the dark ginger fur and made the green eyes squint slightly. The dark fured cat looked around silently from his perch on the rock already gathering his feet under him to launch himself off the rock back into the frozen gray world he came from. He jumped. Landing with a muffled thump, on the hard, frozen earth he padded through the grass calmly. Movement caught his emerald eyes and he froze for half a second until he recognized the shape moving toward him.
Dovepaw
The tall grass parted as the light gray tabby she-cat emerged, looking ever lighter in the gray world they were from. Her blue eyes were like the sky on a crystal clear day and were full of happiness and calm awareness. They lit turing into blue fire, warm and excited, as they met his green eyes. He could hear her pur as she approached him and rubbed against him, but still staying in that silent world. When he said nothing she met his eyes a second time, curousity burning in her eyes before she looked around. He pured quietly as she flicked his right shoulder where his small faint scar was. One she mirrored, the one thing they had in common.
"Rowanpaw"
She mewed his name in a quiet tone in the hushed world and he looked at her, for he had looked away, noting her questioning tone. She glanced around then shivered slightly as the wind rose again. "Why are you out here? Lets go back before the storm." She told him quietly watching him intently. To lie would be useless for he knew Dovepaw knew him to well. He let his emerald gaze shift over the land letting fleeting hearbeats pass. He could feel her gaze on his dark fur. "Wnadering" he replied at last his voice seeming too loud in the silence and he quieted his tone "I just wanted to walk around" he told her as he started to walk calmly away knowing she would fall in step with him, which she did. Silence.
I like the silence.
